Cow Milk Benefits (गोदुग्ध गुण):

अथ गव्यं तु जीवनीयं रसायनम्।

क्षतक्षीणापस्मारश्वासकासतृष्णाज्वरार्शसां हितम्॥

श्रमतन्द्रामदालस्यश्वासनिद्रातिसारनुत् दुग्धम्।

जीवनीयं मृदुकृत्त्वा रक्तपित्तं च नाशयेत्॥ अ . स ६/५२

That means Cow’s milk is Jeevaniya (life-promoting) and Rasayana (rejuvenating).It is beneficial in conditions like Kshata-Ksheena (tissue depletion and debility)Apasmara(epilepsy), Shwasa (asthma), Kasa (cough), Trishna (excessive thirst), Jwara (fever), Arsha (piles).It alleviates fatigue, weakness, drowsiness, thirst, diarrhea, and gives strength and nourishment.

It is cooling, softening, and pacifies Rakta Pitta (bleeding disorders).

Contraindications – When to Avoid Cow Milk (गव्यदुग्ध निषेध):

नात्युष्णं च न मत्स्येनाम्लपिण्यककुथैः।

श्लेष्मिणा कफजै रोगैः क्षीरं च न सेवनम्॥

That means cow milk should be avoided when Taken along with fish, sour foods, or pulses like Kulattha (horse gram), during Kapha disorders (like cold, cough, congestion) and it should not be too hot.
