Diwali is not just a festival of lights but also a celebration of balance — between body, mind, and nature. According to Ayurveda, the Diwali season marks the transition from Sharad Rutu (autumn) to Hemant Rutu (early winter), when Agni (digestive fire) becomes strong. This is the perfect time to enjoy nourishing, energy-giving foods — which is exactly what our traditional Diwali Faral provides.
1. Balancing Doshas
During this seasonal change, Vata dosha tends to increase, causing dryness and restlessness. Faral items like ladoo, chivda, karanji, chakli, shankarpali — made with ghee, oil, sesame seeds, jaggery, and dry fruits — help to balance Vata, providing warmth, lubrication, and strength.
2. Strength & Energy
Ingredients like ghee, dry fruits, gram flour, and jaggery are balya (strength-promoting) and brimhana (nourishing). They build Ojas, the essence of immunity and vitality — essential for the cold season ahead.
3. Digestive Support
Spices such as ajwain, cumin, hing, pepper, and turmeric added to faral improve Agni (digestion), prevent Ama (toxins) formation, and keep the metabolism active despite rich foods.
4. Emotional & Social Wellbeing
Ayurveda emphasizes sattva (mental peace). Preparing and sharing faral with family enhances happiness and community bonding — uplifting mental health and promoting sattvik joy.
🌸 Ayurvedic Tip:
Enjoy Diwali Faral in moderation, freshly prepared in ghee or cold-pressed oil. Drink warm water or herbal teas like jeera-ajwain tea afterward to support digestion.
